Story

Adam was formed from the dust of the ground and brought to life by the breath of God. Placed in the Garden of Eden, he was given the task to work and keep it, and he was granted companionship through Eve.

God gave Adam a clear command — not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But when tempted, Adam disobeyed. This disobedience brought spiritual death, separation from God, and the curse of sin upon all humanity.

Though Adam failed, God's redemptive plan was already in motion. Jesus is described as the 'last Adam' who brings life where the first Adam brought death.

Spiritual Significance

Christ Connection

Adam points to Jesus as the 'last Adam' (1 Corinthians 15:45), who succeeded where Adam failed. Through Adam came death; through Christ comes resurrection and eternal life.

What We Can Learn

Adam reminds us of the consequences of disobedience and the seriousness of sin — but also of God’s grace and His desire to redeem what was lost. We learn the importance of trusting God’s word and walking in humble dependence on Him.
