Light
To see truly, you must walk in Him.
Original Word: אוֹר (or)
Reference: Genesis 1:3
Meaning: Light, brightness, illumination.
The first thing God speaks into creation is, 'Let there be light' — a physical reality that also reflects His nature to bring clarity, life, and order out of chaos.
Light is one of the most powerful symbols in Scripture. It represents truth, purity, holiness, revelation, and life.
God is not just the source of light — He *is* light (1 John 1:5). There is no darkness in Him, no sin, no deceit, no confusion.
Outside of Him, we walk in blindness. Apart from Him, we live in spiritual darkness — unable to see who we are or where we're going.
But in Christ, the Light has come into the world. He opens blind eyes, drives out darkness, and calls us to walk in the light as He is in the light.
God Is Light
“This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5).
Light is not just something God created — it is who He is. His presence reveals truth, exposes sin, and gives life (Psalm 36:9; James 1:17).
In Him, there is no shadow, confusion, or compromise.
True Sight Comes from God
Outside of God’s light, we are blind to our true condition. “The god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers” (2 Corinthians 4:4).
Only by His light can we see clearly — who He is, who we are, and the path to walk. “In Your light, we see light” (Psalm 36:9).
Jesus: The Light of the World
Jesus declared, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12).
He is not just a teacher or prophet — He is the source of all true light. Any spiritual truth, real sight, or lasting hope flows from Him. “In Him was life, and that life was the light of men” (John 1:4).
Many seek enlightenment apart from Jesus — but He alone reveals God, exposes sin, and leads to life. Satan disguises himself as “an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14), but his light deceives and destroys.
Jesus is the true light who came into the world — not to flatter us, but to rescue us (John 1:9). If the light we follow is not Christ, we still walk in darkness.
Walking in the Light
To walk with God is to walk in the light. That means living in honesty, repentance, and obedience — bringing nothing into the dark.
“If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus purifies us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
Light leads to fellowship, cleansing, and freedom.
Called to Shine
Jesus said to His followers, “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). As children of light (Ephesians 5:8), we reflect His brightness into the world through lives of truth and love.
We don’t shine by our own power — we reflect His glory. “Let your light shine before others… so they may glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
